Widely regarded as having massive potential but beset with back problems, 'Freddie' Flintoff, is regarded as England's only world-class all-rounder.

Since re-modeling his action in 2001, he has enhanced his ability to bowl at genuine pace allied to seam movement. His mature batting is now disciplined and a potent threat in both versions of the game.

Flintoff registered his maiden five-wicket haul during the Test series against West Indies, where conditions helped his style of short-pitched pace. He also scored his third Test century in the final match in Antigua.

He certainly has the necessary desire for success, as he showed by tearing off his shirt and sprinting around the outfield bare chested after claiming the last wicket in a series-squaring ODI win over India.

England will be hoping that some of that chest thumping aggressiveness will be on show during this tour.
