THE NURSES posted at the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital have decided to do only morning shift from September 14.
They are angry over the delay made by the hospital administration in releasing their salary.
They also handed over a letter to the Moti Lal Nehru Medical College principal and the chief medical superintendent, informing about their decision, on Tuesday.
District Nurses’ Association president Safia Khatun said the nurses have decided to boycott the afternoon and night shift, after the administration failed to provide them basic facilities.
“We have not received salary for the past two months. There is no generator connection in the duty room.
Our other demands like payment of arrears and updating service books are also pending,” she said.
Safia Khatun said despite repeated request new departments were being opened at the SRN Hospital, leading to additional pressure on the nurses.
