Animation: Pluses and Minuses

A few pros and cons of this industry...

Pluses:

- High salary prospects: you can earn more than a lakh a month after a few years
- Plenty of promotion prospects
- A career you can stay in for life
- Fun, informal , trendy work environment
- Allows people to fully exploit their creative side

Minuses:

- Long hours. Staff sometimes must through the night. Some studios have been described as sweatshops and many animators become workaholics.
- Male dominated
- Mastering the software requires hard work and progress up career ladder requires a lot of dedication
