Akshay Vishal (26) was an employee of the beleaguered Satyam Computer Services Limited and was on contract with US company Jet Falcon. His contract was to end later this year.

“My son was getting into the car to go home when some people of dark complexion, either Mexicans or black Americans, fired at him injuring him in the legs. He fell and was bleeding profusely. He was taken to a hospital in Little Rock and operated upon but died soon after,” Akshay’s grief-stricken father N. Lakshman Murthy told the Hindustan Times.

“This much we came to know from his Indian friends, we don’t have much details. It must be murder for money,” Murthy, who is an employee of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, said.

Akshay left for US four years ago after completing his B Tech and got his MS degree from Alaska University. He joined Satyam two years ago.

A state government official said the administration was in touch with Indian embassy in Washington to expedite the process of getting Akshay’s body back.
