Another boat mishap in Assam, 1 untraced

A boat carrying picnickers capsized in the river Brahmaputra off Sukreswar Ghat here Wednesday evening. Of the 20 on board, one person named Gokul Das is feared dead. This is the second such incident after seven teenagers were swept away off Sualkuchi town, some 30 km west of here, on January 1.

According to City police officials, the boat hit a sandbar while returning from Kurua on the opposite bank and capsized. Except for Das, probably drowned and swept away by the river's strong undercurrent, the others were rescued.
