Local newspapers published this news and district magistrate Dr Hariom took notice of the issue. Hence, Narayan Bhagat was admitted to the district hospital on October 15.

Later on, he was shifted to BRD Medical College, where he passed away in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.

It is the second death due to starvation in the district but district administration denied the caused of death.

However, they admitted that Bhagat was suffering from lack of food and he was anemic.

Bhagat, a resident of Gayatripuram near Nina Thapa College under Cantonment police station, was the only earning member in the family of five. Bhagat was not getting the job due to his ill health since last two month.

The district administration had categorically denied the death due to starvation and medical report differs the cause of death.

In many cases, the cause of death was reported as ill nutrition. Contrary to it, political parties have started the bid to take political mileage over the death during municipal corporation election.
