Army officials denied any violation of truce and said the militants who were engaged in the encounter with troops since Sunday morning again fired this today. The fire was retaliated and in the ensuing encounter that lasted more than six hours, two more militants were gunned down while Naik Dopeyajo of Nagaland was killed.

On Sunday, Sepoy Tatong Chiba of 1 Assam was killed.

Army sources disclosed that Pakistani troops had pushed a group of 6-8 militants — probably from Lashkar-e-Tayyeba — from their Kabristan post towards Indian posts Kallas and FDL 406. Intermittent exchange of heavy firing continued till Sunday evening where two militants and a jawan were killed on Sunday.

On Monday around 9 am, army sources said the remaining hiding militants attacked the observation post near Kallas post.
