A pale of gloom descended on village Mehna Monday evening after Jaggu’s cousin reported to his parents over the phone about the tragedy from Philippines.

According to information, the man was shot dead by a few assailants outside Manila city while he was traveling on a highway. “Jaggu was cremated at Manila by his close relatives on Tuesday,” said sarpanch Harpal Singh of village Mehna. Jaggu had left two daughters and a little son.

Ujagar Singh father of deceased told that Jaggu had gone to the Philippines about twelve years ago. “It is a bigger heartache for our family that we could not see dead body of Jaggu and we were not close to my son at the time of his life end,” he said.

It may be mentioned here that on January 31, Harveer Singh of Raunta village, on April 18, Baljeet Singh of Kokri Kalan village, Gurdial Singh of Dosanjh village, two real brothers of Bhinder Kalan, Gurmeet Singh (28) and Veer Singh (24) were also murdered in the Philippines.
