Close on the heels of the Jaipur incident, a Sikh schoolboy in Kurukshetra has alleged that his hair was forcibly cut by some unidentified youth and the Shiromani Akali Dal and SGPC have demanded their immediate arrest.
Jagbir Singh, student of Gita Niketan School, alleged that the incident occurred on August 12 when he was on his way to a bookshop.
The boy said he was offered help by the youth who then drugged him, cut his hair, bundled him into a car and took him to an unidentified place from where he somehow managed to escape.
Father of the boy, Gurpratap Singh alleged that on Friday only the police registered the case after pressure was mounted by the Sikh community.
Both SAD and SGPC have taken up cudgels against the incident and held demonstations in Chandigarh, Dabwali and Sirsa demanding arrest of those involved in the incident.
SGPC senior Vice President RS Virk met the parents of the boy and the Kurukshetra police chief demanding action in the case.
The complaint follows the August 22 incident in Jaipur where a Sikh teenager Inderpreet Singh's hair was cut by some persons sparking widespread protests by the community and its condemnation at the national level.
