The doctors have been instructed to stay put at their stations in wake of the increased pitch of the anti-mosquito campaign, which has helped restrict the spread of mosquito-related diseases. This was decided at a meeting held at the Collectorate, an official release said.

The meeting was attended by MP Sumitra Mahajan, Mayor Uma Shashi Sharma, Collector Vivek Agrawal, IMC Health Committee chief Rajendra Rathore, Joint Director (Health) Dr S K Shrivastav, and MY Hospital Superintendent Dr D K Jain, among other health authorities.

The anti-mosquito campaign was reviewed during the meeting. Agrawal told the meeting that the number of persons affected had decreased since the start of the campaign. Additional 18 vehicles have been deployed to clear garbage and fogging and spraying activity is also going on in full steam, he said.

Mahajan suggested charging a nominal fee from the residents in the City. The meeting was also attended by office-bearers of the Indore unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and NGOs working in the health sector, the release added.
