THE ANNUAL function of the post graduate students of the Department of Political Science of Allahabad University— Anubhooti 2006— was organised at the AU Senate Hall on Friday. Former chairman of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission Prof KB Pandey was the chief guest at the function.
The function started with a Saraswati Vandana by Brijesh Singh, followed by various cultural events like debates and a prize distribution ceremonyat the end . The welcome song was sung by Abhilasha, Kavita and Pratima Mishra while a dance was performed by Juhi, Prabhat, Manjita and Divya Verma.
Another student Imran sang a ghazal while Nishi Singh, Diwakar, Avanish, Sushma, Anand, Shashank and Anuj rendered solo songs. Kavita and Manish staged a drama while Rahul, Susheel, Durgesh, Kavita and Ajay recited poems .
In the debate, Abhilash stood first while Abhishek and Vinod bagged the second position followed by Sushil Pratap Singhwho stood third . The chief guest gave awards to the winners.
A number of people, including Head of Political Science department Prof MP Dubey, Dr Ashwini Dubey, Dr Rajpal Budania, Sanjeev Kumar, general secretary of AU Students Union Suresh Yadav and Rajesh Singh were also present on the occasion.
