The coaches got separated from the engine when the coupling linking them snapped between Barbatpur and Ghoradongri stations at around 2000 hours, they added.

"It is not a derailment or an accident but an engine parting from coaches, which happens once in a while due to breaking of couplings," Sunil Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Central Railway (Nagpur Division) told PTI here.

All the passengers are safe and the train will resume its onward journey after necessary repairs, he said. Technicians have been sent to the spot to undertake the repairs and the train, which has already suffered more than three-hour delay, is expected resume journey at around midnight.
