As interrogation of doctors and staffers of Apollo hospital in connection with the Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case entered the third day on Saturday, those questioned accused the Delhi police of threatening and harrassing them, a claim strongly denied by investigators.

Police on Saturday questioned five doctors and the same number of other staff members of the premier hospital, which is accused of tampering with Rahul's medical records, to establish the sequence of events which occurred after his admission in the wee hours of June two.

Investigators are planning to interrogate all those employees involved, directly or indirectly, in providing treatment to Mahajan junior.

Alleging that police officials are threatening doctors and staffers with 'dire consequences' to name 'higher-ups' of the hospital in the case, their lawyer Lalit Bhasin told PTI that 'doctors are being treated like accused and are being harrassed, abused and threatened'.

"Such high-handed approach is against the principles of interrogation laid down by the Supreme Court," he said.

So far, investigators have quizzed 19 Apollo employees out of the nearly 50-odd summoned for questioning by them.

Police had claimed that 'tampering' was done at the highest level in the hospital to botch up the sensational drug drug abuse case. However, Apollo chief Pratap Reddy had strongly denied the claim.
