Leading private sector healthcare provider Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd on Monday posted a 28.57 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 18 crore for the quarter ended June 30, as compared to Rs 14 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2005.

Total income increased to Rs 205.2 crore for the first quarter in 2006, up 30.36 per cent from Rs 157.4 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The shares of the company closed up 1.95 per cent on the BSE today at Rs 449.55.
