Police have asked mall authorities to curtail parking time for vehicles in their basements. Police would tow away vehicles found parked for long hours. Footfall at malls has come down as visitors are staying away from crowded places fearing terrorist attacks. Are you interested in...?

Joint Commissioner of Police Manjit Singh Ahalawat said besides other directives issued to the mall authorities such as compulsory functioning of CCTV camera sand their recording, checking of vehicles and frisking of the visitors entering the malls, the mall authorities have also been asked to be cautious of the vehicles which were parked for longer hours or days in their basement parking lots.

Malls, cyber cafes asked to plug security holes

The Noida administration has asked the shopping mall managers and cyber café-owners to be extra vigilant, given the spate of terrorist attacks in different parts of the country. The administration has found several security lapses in these establishments.

At a meeting on Monday with the mall managers, the administration said that it had found CCTV cameras were not functioning in some places, while in others, security guards were not properly checking the visitors’ bags. Cyber cafes were found allowing visitors to use their facilities without verifying their ID proof.
