Arjun bitten by the filmmaking bug

The actor speaks to Suman Gupta about his new home production I See You, which releases next week.

One of the city’s beautiful couples is about to deliver their third baby. And it’s christened I See You, a rom com located largely in Southwark, an upscale neighbourhood in London.

Actor Arjun and fashion femme Mehr Rampal, parents of Mahika and Myra, have now multi-tasked as film producers and are understandably beaming about the film’s release at the month-end.

“Don’t think we’re cool inside, we are nervous as the release date draws closer,” says Mehr. “I guess that’s the thrill of making movies.” The thrill includes a splashy dance sequence choreographed by Shiamak Dawar.

Incidentally, this is the first time that the picky choreographer has done all the dance sequences in a film. “Shiamak did that for us..as a buddy would..in fact the best part about the movie is that it’s been done in pure team spirit,” avers Rampal.

Adds the actor-producer, “The director, Vivek Agrawal whose first film this is, has been a pal ever since he was Ashok Mehta sir’s assistant on Moksh. There is nothing more creatively exciting when you have the entire team on the same page..with likeminded imagination.”

The film was shot in 36 days. “Every member of the unit was in the same hotel, we had a blast,” continues Rampal, laughing. “And I hope the audience has a blast too.” The Rampals want the film’s heroine – Vipasha Aggarwal of Delhi – to be a surprise, which explains the fact that she hasn’t been prominent on the TV promos or print publicity.

Evidently, the filmmaking bug has bitten the actor. He has been reading several scripts to finalise one for his next production. “Hopefully, the project will be ready to roll next year,” he states, ending, “I have so many stories to tell, so many roles to perform that I feel I’m just starting over.”
