A police team in course of combing operation in Sinduribera village yesterday came across one person with fire arms who wanted to flee on seeing the police party, police said.

However, the police gave a hot chase and nabbed him, the police said, adding that a country-made rifle and two live cartridges were recovered from his possession.

Following the arrest, police conducted raid in Kandyank village where one Kolay Bodra was seen moving with fire-arms, the police said.

Bodra made an abortive attempt to escape but was caught by the police and a thorough search in Bodra's house led Police to recover four more single-barrel country-made fire-arms.

Police have been investigating their links with an extremist outfit, which was active in West Singhbhum district for the last few years.

Meanwhile, the district police have launched an intensive combing operation jointly with CRPF personnel in the dense Saranda forest to flush out ultras before the forthcoming polls.
