Terrorists on Sunday exploded a car bomb when an army convoy was passing through central Srinagar wounding two jawans critically.

A stationary Maruti car laden with explosives went off near a hospital at Bemina at around 0950 hrs when an army convoy was passing through the area, they said.

Two army jawans were injured grievously when their vehicle was hit by splinters, the sources said.

Security forces cordoned off the entire area and launched a massive hunt for the attackers.

The powerful explosion shattered windowpanes of many houses at Bemina and adjoining areas.

No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
