The woman, identified as Annadrai Deepa, was arrested on Friday from her residence in Domana area after police investigations revealed that she strangulated her husband M Ramesh, a jawan of Delta company of 9 Madras, on the intervening night of April 2 and 3, Superintendent of Police, rural, Mohan Lal said.

Ramesh on the fateful night came in an inebriated condition. He had a scuffle with Deepa over some minor issue, following which Deepa strangulated him, Lal said, adding she later told people that Ramesh committed suicide.
