Army moves in to secure India Gate

A DAY after the Mumbai train blasts, a security cover was thrown around Delhi. On Wednesday, two companies of army and a quick reaction team (QRT) were deployed at the India Gate.

A DAY after the Mumbai train blasts, a security cover was thrown around Delhi. On Wednesday, two companies of army and a quick reaction team (QRT) were deployed at the India Gate. These are apart from the Delhi Police and the paramilitary troops on guard at the place. Sources said that immediately after the blasts, when the intelligence agencies sifted through inputs and wireless intercepts of the past couple of months, a few inputs did point to a direct threat to vital installations in Delhi.
