Dealing a fresh blow to RJD MP, Mohammad Shahabuddin, a Siwan court on Thursday issued warrants of arrest against his wife, father and brother in an Arms Act case.

The Siwan sub-divisional magistrate, Komal Ram, accepted the police prayer for issuance of arrest warrants against Shahabuddin's wife Heena Shahab, father SM Habibullah and brother Shamsuddin.

The warrants were issued for failure to surrender the firearms despite cancellation of licences by the district administration last year.

The then Siwan district magistrate CK Anil had cancelled the licences of Shahabuddin and his kin on detection of irregularities in issuing them and

The licence was also cancelled taking note of the criminal background of the MP.

Despite cancellation of licences, Shahabuddin and his kin did not surrender their 10 firearms prompting the district administration to lodge a case against the family with Hussainganj police station last May.

Shahabuddin, who was arrested in Delhi in November last and brought to Bihar, is currently lodged at Bhagalpur jail.
