Ash, Bollywood's real 'hero'

Somehow the male dominated movie industry and the media have always fought shy of giving Aishwarya her due. All her international achievements were dismissed as PR stunts. These journos and industry had, however, no qualms about drooling all over Will Smith on his visit to India. It was funny how Smith had to educate sceptical Indian media that she was truly valued abroad as a global Indian.

Somehow the male dominated movie industry and the media have always fought shy of giving Aishwarya her due. She has always been derided and made fun of for looking towards Hollywood. All her international achievements were dismissed as PR stunts.

Wonder if the same treatment would have been given to a male star had he achieved similar glory.

As for Aishwarya, I feel she has done India proud and as an Indian and as a woman I am truly proud of her.
