Despite reports of a F-16 fighter aircraft’s engine having been damaged while flying through the volcanic ash cloud spread across Northern Europe for five days, a few airports in the affected region opened on Monday, while others announced plans of doing so.
Experts also noted Iceland’s Eyjafjoell volcano was spewing less ash, a sign that the eruption could be tapering off.
