The white trousers, true to Ashish's belief that future fashion innovation will be born of fabric technology rather than form, were constructed from a laser-fused cotton that gave the appearance of waffling.

They were given added interest with deconstructed external pockets, braces for women and flapped flies. Indian craftsmanship manifested itself in the immaculate pintucking.

The palette then moved into black and white, with occasional prints of darting and pockets then an occasional red design motif: perhaps a flower or line drawing of a face, then finally the total palette of red, black and white as a variety of separates.

Trousers predominated for women, mostly flared, but with an occasional straight leg making an appearance. There were crops and even a knee length legging.

The pieces de resistance were two beautifully constructed black cotton coat dresses with stunning pleating, pintucking and detailing that typifies much of Soni's work and ensures his continuing success both in India and abroad.
