"Except for the residential areas, devotees could continue to freely access other areas in the ashram", a spokesperson of the ashram, Charu said.

Access to satsangs, ashram-run courses and kitchen area, where devotees are free to help themselves to food, would continue to be thrown open to all.

"Sri Sri is keen that there are no restrictions and devotees are free to intermingle and interact," she said.

Though currently there was no surveillance system in the ashram, the issue could perhaps be examined later, she said.

The ashram authorities would resort to checking only in case of any suspicion, she said.

Police security at the ashram has been strengthened and an investigation team is currently posted at the campus to probe into the shooting incident, she said.

Sri Sri Ravishankar continued to be flooded by messages and e-mails from devotees in India and around the globe, enquiring about his well being, she said.

Sri Sri Ravishankar escaped unhurt when an unidentified gunman fired at his convoy at the Ashram after his discourse on Sunday evening.
