IS BOLLYWOOD beauty Aishwarya Rai now heading for a ceremonial marriage with a ‘tree’ before actually getting married? When and where will this ceremony take place? These questions have now become the talk of this temple town, a day after the Bachchan family and Aishwarya left for Mumbai.
After performing pujas at Vishwanath Temple and Sankat Mochan Temple in the wee hours of Monday, the question that baffles the priests and common people is when and where will Aishwarya’s family conduct the ceremonial ‘Kumbh Vivah’ oftheir daughter.
According to some priests, ‘Kumbh Vivah’ —performed with a ‘Peepal tree’, ‘Banana Tree’ or ‘idol of Lord Vishnu’ was necessary for girls who are Manglik to ward off ill-effects of Manglik.
“Since there were reports that Aishwarya Rai was a Manglik —- priests would certainly advice performing of ‘Kumbh Vivah’ before the actual marriage”, said Sridhar Pandey, a priest who participated in the puja ceremonies of Bachchan family inside the Sankat Mochan Temple on Monday.
However, a renowned vedic Brahmin requesting anonymity said, “Aishwarya would have to marry either a peepal or banana tree or an idol of Lord Vishnu in case she is Manglik.” He also said ‘Kumbh Vivah’ was performed for Manglik girls and not for Manglik boys.
It may be mentioned that astrologer Chandrashhekar Swami of Bangalore while speaking about Bachchan family and Aishwarya performing pujas in Varanasi together, claimed from Dubai that, “Abhishek and Aishwarya were in the Shiva township on his suggestion.” I advised the families to perform this corrective puja at an ancient Shiva temple”, he claimed.

Amitabh Bachchan’s brother, Ajitabh had air-dashed to Bangalore earlier this year to meet Swami at the behest of Aishwarya’s father Krishnaraja Rai at his RT Nagar residence with the horoscopes of the two.
Also, Ajitabh accompanying the Bachchan family and Aishwarya Rai to Vishwanath Temple for performing pujas is full of logic. And the observers believe that the Bachchan family also sent a message across that Aishwarya was now part of their family.
