THE POLICE on Wednesday arrested astrologer Arun Dwivedi (48), a resident of Vayu Nagar here, under Section 354 of the IPC for alleged molestation of a woman. Dwivedi is a high-profile man with good contacts.
CSP Pallavi Trivedi said that the complainant said Dwivedi molested her in his home when she, her friend and her sister-in-law visited him for consultation.
The woman alleged that Dwivedi first hypnotised her and then molested her. He had asked the victim to discuss the issue in private and asked others to wait outside. The matter she wanted to discuss was related to the marriage of sister-in-law’s daughter.
The incident took place on Saturday last. The victim’s friend had advised her to meet the astrologer who was instrumental arranging job for her husband in Gujarat.
Today, the family members of the victim and her associates barged into the house of the astrologer, pulled him out of the house and thrashed him.
Police reached the spot and arrested Dwivedi.
