'Atal would have done the same'

It was quite a pragmatic and an appropriate step for PM to personally greet the President Bush. Dr Singh's role in the economic development of India will be remembered for a long time. One aspect it is the ability to effectively nurture the right strategic relationship with the most powerful country. The BJP is in the opposition and misses no chance to create an issue where there is none.

I think that it was quite pragmatic and an appropriate step for the CEO of India to personally greet the president of the United States.

Dr Manmohan Singh is visionary and his role and impact on the economic development of India will be recorded in golden letters in the years to come. One aspect of this growth and development is the ability to effectively nurture the right strategic and a symbiotic relationship with the largest and most powerful country ever i.e. the United States.

I think the BJP is in the opposition and therefore they miss no opportunity to create an issue even if there is none. In fact if the BJP was in power then, I assure you, Mr Vajpayee would have personally received Mr Bush.

For now this criticism is for the sake of criticism is anything but constructive. It is imperative that India and the United States think beyond their past differences. They need to grow and strengthen their relationships and bring the N-deal to fruition. In the times to come they will find themselves driven to the same camp since the binding principles that govern the structure of political, economic, social, judicial and military interests and values are same in both the countries.
