Apprehension of yet another attack on Atlantis--the Multiplex in Civil Lines-- has rattled its management.
CEO and Director, HV Tewari has sought from DM the protection of the building and its employees from of vandals who, he says, are planning another attack on the building which also houses the McDonald's --the American fast food joint.
In a letter to the DM the CEO has said, the employees are terrorised and fear of another attack haunts them. Under such circumstances we need adequate security.
Insiders said, they have come to know about a diabolic massive plan by some local politicians to harm the building with the help of a big mob. If this happens it would lower the prestige of the city in the eyes of outsiders and nobody would ever venture to set up any big project here in future, he pointed out. The CEO's letter has drawn the attention of the DM towards an earlier attack on the Atlantis.
Recently about hundred persons claiming themselves workers of the Samajwadi Party had attacked the building and damaged three big glasses and some other costly articles. The attackers were shouting slogans against VP Singh, father of Ajay Singh who owns the building.
However, timely intervention by the local administration and the police had saved the situation from getting worse. Police had to use force to disperse the mob. But the action was enough to terrorise the customers. It is understood that the incident was the handwork of local politicians as there was no call from the Samajwadi Party headquarters to harm the building.
However, some local leaders were trying to please their mentors by harming the building because of VP Singh's Dadri march which was against the SP Government, said some insiders.
