Terming the terror strikes in Mumbai as "an attack on every Indian", Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi asked the people of the country to fight back the elements which were trying to divide the country.

Terming the terror strikes in Mumbai as "an attack on every Indian", Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday asked the people of the country to fight back the elements which were trying to divide the country.

"This attack is not on Mumbai, but on everyone on this ground. It is an attack on every part of India, attack on every Indian," Gandhi said in a meeting here.

The Congress general secretary asked the people "to come out and fight against them (terrorists)" who were trying to divide the country.

He said that the terrorist's do not have the understanding of India's strength.

"They think that they (terrorists) can divide us, but this is not going to happen, they think they can scare us but this is also not going to happen. They think they can confine us in our homes but we will come out and fight against them," he said. "This country can not be divided."
