AU student?s lower limbs paralysed

VIVEK YADAV, the critically ill student of Allahabad University, who was injured in a shoot-out on Saturday, has suffered paralysis of the lower limbs. Doctors at the KGMU?s Trauma Centre have decided to postpone the operation to remove the bullet embedded near the neck and head joint in his body.

VIVEK YADAV, the critically ill student of Allahabad University, who was injured in a shoot-out on Saturday, has suffered paralysis of the lower limbs.
Doctors at the KGMU’s Trauma Centre have decided to postpone the operation to remove the bullet embedded near the neck and head joint in his body.

Yadav, a student of BA (Part I) was rushed to KGMU with two bullet injuries.
Doctors of the Department of Neurosurgery said the sensory nerves in Vivek’s neck were damaged and a surgery was not possible right now. Therefore, it was decided to shift him on Monday under the supervision of doctors of the Department of Orthopaedics for the next couple of days.

“Doctors are not clear, but they have refused for an operation right now,” said Manoj, Vivek’s uncle.

Meanwhile, AUVice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe on Sunday ordered a proctorial inquiry into the recent shooting that rocked the AU campus on Saturday afternoon. In another development, Arun Shukla, the undergraduate AU student who shot at two students yesterday morning on the university campus, was arrested late last night on Allahabad-Jaunpur border.
