ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY students gheraoed the AU Board of Trustees president Prof GK Rai at his residence here on Monday in support of their demand to declare the students’ union election date.

The students claimed that Prof Rai assured them to consider their demand in a meeting of Board of Trustees after the Dussehra break.
They were led by student leader Rajesh Singh, AU Students Union general secretary Suresh Yadav, Abhishek Shukla, Dr Nirbhay Singh Patel, Samar Bahadur Singh, Vijay Dwivedi, Ziya Quonain Rizvi, Mohit Patel, Ripusoodan Yadav, Santlal Verma, Irshad Ullah and Lalaram Saroj.
ISDC protest: Iswar Saran Degree College (ISDC) students union president Vishal Shukla continued the relay fast on the 71st day on Monday in support of their seventeen-point demand.
The students were protesting against college authorities for not taking any steps to check corruption and irregularities in the college besides demanding CBI inquiry into irregularities in the college.
They said that the State Congress spokesperson Pawan Pandey visited the college and met the protesting students.
The students claimed that Pandey demanded the State government to take necessary action according to the demands of the students and threatened to continue the protest in front of the Vidhan Bhawan.
UPNSPM to meet HC judges: Uttar Pradesh Nyayik Sewa Pratiyogi Morcha (UPNSPM) members decided to meet the judges of High Court on Tuesday and to hold state-wide demonstration in support of their demand to reduce the 200 marks compulsory English in the Judicial Service Examinations.
UPNSPM president Jitendra Nayak said in a communiqué that the members took the decision in a meeting held here on Monday. Those present were Mithilesh Verma, Rajkishor Singh, Sanjay Yadav, Raj Kumar Yadav, Madan Tiwari and Balram Verma among others.
