ALLAHABAD UNIVERSITY (AU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajen Harshe carried out a surprise inspection of the CMP Degree College (CMPDC) on Thursday— the second such visit in the past one month. Prof Harshe visited the college library, saw the classrooms, interacted with students and enquired about their problems.
Addressing a group of students, Prof Harshe said that the practice of launching agitation to get a problem solved was not the correct attitude as it only results in impeding the development. What is more, such protests do not give any solution to the problems, he added.
"We are fully committed to solve all your problems and want to provide you with the best of facilities for your education.
I urge you to concentrate on your studies and trust us to provide you all with the best aids possible," he said.
Earlier, Prof Harshe along with AU proctor Prof Jata Shankar arrived at the college at around 12 pm and visited the college library. He went through the journals and books and candidly admitted that there was a great scope for improvement. He said that despite some efforts to improve the library, there was a lot which needed immediate attention.
The students apprised him of the problems of inadequate books in the library, absence of potable water facility and irregular classes. The VC assured them that all the issues would be looked into. Later, Prof Harshe also held a brief meeting with CMP Degree College principal Dr Kiran Shankar.
