Looks like even socialites have their own day. The Mayor of Las Vegas during a function declared August 29, 2006 as the ‘Paris Hilton Day’ and honoured the budding popstar by handing over the key to the city.

The Stars are Blind singer was introduced to the packed crowd at a Vegas block party by comedian Jeff Beacher.

Hilton proclaimed her love for Vegas saying it's her "favourite place in the world to come to party."

After the honour, Paris did what she did what she likes to do best in Vegas and partied the night away at Pure nightclub, reports TMZ.

Hilton danced on a table and "sang" songs from her new album, which has apparently debuted at number 6 on the Billboard charts.
