Love knows no boundaries. Another case supporting this saying came as a blissful moment for the Dalits of a Bihar village near Bodh Gaya when an Australian tourist guide married a small shop owner in traditional Hindu style.
Areen, clad in traditional bridal outfits, married Sanjay Manjhi amid fanfare at a temple in the New Taradih village.
Sanjay Manjhi, who runs a small shop in Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, met Areen, a tourist guide, on November 24 last year.
"It was love at first sight and we were married in a court in Dharamshala December 27," Areen told IANS.
"Later Sanjay told me that he desired a traditional marriage in his village and I agreed to it," she said.
There was much merry making with the locals dancing, singing, drinking wine and feasting. For the residents of Musahar Toli, a Dalit locality, home to the poorest of the poor, it was a cherished moment.
Both husband and wife can speak only a dash of the other's language.
