The authority had assured the Kisan Sangharsh Samiti of solving the matter by August 16. It had formed two committees to solve the land issues.

The samiti has threatened to stop work at builders’ sites if the authority fails to resolve the matter by Tuesday.

On Saturday, the committees scanned the abadi land surveys of Sorkha, Parthala Khanjarpur, Badoli Bangar, Sadarpur and Agahpur villages. “We hope to solve the issue of these five villages by August 16,” said an authority official.

The Sorkha village land falls in sectors 74, 75, 76, 78, 79, 113, 116 and 117 in Noida. Developers like Amrapali, Supertech, Unitech, Gaursons, Ajnara and Gardenia are building around 20,000 houses in these sectors.

Meanwhile, members of the Kisan Bachao Sangharsh Samiti too held village-level meetings on Saturday and contacted advocates to file petitions if their demands are not met by Tuesday. These are the farmers of the 11 villages whose land was acquired between 1976 and 1997.

“We’re moving petitions to get the plots back which have been lying unused for decades,” said Raghu Raj Singh, a Congress leader.
