Earlier, the secretary of the union Akhilesh Pandey had given a reminder to the director asking him to supply the required information sought by the union through its letter dated November 2. He said it was unjustified on the part of director for not providing information required by the union.

Meanwhile, union members held a meeting in the campus here today and opposed the proposal of seeking autonomy for the institute.

Addressing the institute employees, the union president Nawab Singh Yadav said the director of the institute should first take the employees in confidence before making any efforts for autonomy.

He said the autonomy would distort the prestigious status of the institute. He said that employees would intensify their agitation if the proceedings for autonomy were not stopped.

Several union leaders included OP Saini, Rajendra Yadav, Siraj Ahmed, Mahendra Kumar, Raj Kishore, Ram Pratap, Ram Lal, Sri Ram, and DK Patni addressed the employees.
