Meanwhile, the train traffic from Mumbai towards Bhopal remained unaffected as it runs on the Central Line, which ran unhindered even after the blasts. However, Mumbai Central-Indore superfast (2961 Avantika Express) was cancelled following the blasts.

The train leaves Mumbai Central at 7.05 pm and reaches Indore and was scheduled to reach Indore at 9.20 am on Wednesday.
But the 2962 Avantika Express from Indore to Mumbai left Indore on time on Tuesday afternoon but was expected to reach Mumbai very late.

The railway and roadways commuters are advised to embark on journey to Mumbai only after enquiring about the situation from the local enquiry.

In Bhopal Railway Division, all the Station Masters who had left home after duty have been asked to return to the stations. The platforms, bridges and compartments are being checked and commuters urged to inform the authorities about any unclaimed or suspicious-looking object.

All the railway police stations have been directed to undertaking checking in trains and on the railways station premises. Senior railway officials are themselves conducting the security checks at railway stations under their jurisdiction. The dog squad has also been pressed into service.
