Indore would soon get an international level total solution aviation training institute with ASIA USA Aviation choosing to open their first centre in the country.
ASIA USA president Captain Elia Golfin, who was in the Indore to announce his plans of opening an academy, said he was holding a seminar for prospective students on April 19 to give them information about the course. He said since the academy was in the process of getting necessary clearance from various government agencies, the students who take up the course would be given training in the USA, till the time the Indore centre was opened.
Captain Golfin said that with a boom coming in every segment fuelled by growing economies, the century was truly poised to belong to Asia. The aviation sector had not remained untouched by this phenomenal growth and was expected to grow by leaps and bounds. Within a decade, the number of passenger aircraft was predicted to grow by 30 per cent.
Similarly the number of freight carriers had increased from 99 to 200 and was predicted to increase to 2,200 by end of the decade. In such a scenario, the number of pilots needed over the decade would be around five lakh, of which nearly 50,000 would be needed in India alone. ASIA USA planned to train at least 5,000 pilots and contribute towards this requirement.
ASIA USA had already got a fleet of 32 small and mid-sized airplanes and including single engine aircrafts having Cessna models 152, 172, 172 SP, and Piper variants Warrior and Arrow. Multi-engine aircrafts like Piper Seneca, Douglas DC-3, turbine engine crafts like Beechcraft King Air and Frasca 141 ground trainer stimulator. The large facility at Arlington (Dallas) houses about 40 instructors and complete ground/technical maintenance crew.

The institute also offers a lucky draw for which an enrolled student was eligible three times. The first prize was commercial and private pilot licence, instrument and multi-engine rating; second prize included instrument rating and private pilot licence, while third prize included a private pilot licence.
