The move comes in the wake of the ongoing protest by employees of the Parishad.

As a precautionary measure, lest the agitating employees disrupt the proceedings, the Parishad authorities have issued instructions for beefing up security at the venue of the board meeting on May 29. Among other things, the proposal to provide land to prominent private developers in various parts of the State is on the agenda of the meeting.

The employees are irked over the Parishad’s decision to give up prime land in Sultanpur in favour of a private real estate developer. On Saturday, the ongoing work boycott by the ministerial staff association, clerical and class IV employees of the Parishad entered into its fourth day.

The ministerial and clerical staff are demanding pay revision and parity with their counterparts in the accounts section of the department.

“The agitation would be intensified and other employees’ associations, including engineers, would also lend support to the stir, if our demands are not met by May 29,” said Vindyawasini Prasad and Rajesh Kumar Dubey of the employees’ union.
