"There is no scope for groupism. We all should concentrate efforts towards winning more seats in Karnataka", Azad, who arrived from Delhi, told partymen.

Later, he held talks with senior leaders at a resort on the city outskirts on the prevailing political situation in the state.

Congress, which is out of power in its strong bastion since 2004, had won only eight Lok Sabha seats out of 28 in the last general elections.

Azad is credited with bringing the party to power in 1999 under the leadership of S M Krishna when he was in-charge of party affairs. This is Azad's second stint in the state.
