The former shot off another letter to the latter on Tuesday reminding him of his “services” to the Muslim community.

Appearing extremely upset over Qureshi’s demand for returning Rs ten lakh, which he had donated for the construction of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar University in Rampur, Khan said the money had already been spent for the purchase of land for the university. However, Khan said he was ready to pay back the amount to the people of Meerut individually, if Qureshi provided their addresses.

Releasing his letter to the media along with that of Qureshi’s letter, Khan also sarcastically commented on his “international image” following his Danish cartoon bounty statement. Hitting him further, Khan said, “Muslims of the world have been looking up to you with hope and you have become ideal for the community in India.”

However, reiterating the charge, Qureshi said the university was for the vested interest of Khan. He said the community had realized that Khan had done nothing for it during the last two years and he could no longer emotionally exploit the community. Qureshi also assailed Khan for his silence over Danish cartoons. He said while Indian Muslims were highly agitated over the issue, Khan just refused to associate himself with their concern.
