The Azamgarh district administration has prohibited the entry of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslameen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi to the periphery of the district in view of the current tension in Mubarakpur town.

District magistrate Suhas LY told HT on the phone, "An order to prohibit entry of AIMIM chief Owaisi into the district has been issued today in view of current condition in the district. The order was issued after we received inputs about his visit to the district.”
"The prohibitory order is in force," the DM said.
According to sources, AIMIM chief Owaisi was scheduled to reach Azamgarh district on Saturday evening. On Sunday, he was supposed to hold a meeting at Sarai Meer and Sanjarpur in Azamgarh district.
