The applicants were upset over the delay in distribution of admit cards. They said contrary to the university authorities’ announcement, the admit cards were not available on the website. Talking to Hindustan Times, applicants said they hoped for transparency in the entrance test, therefore, they had applied to DDU Gorakhpur University. They further said that the appointment of B Ed graduates in Government Primary Schools had enthused them to apply for admission to B Ed courses.
Ramesh Kumar, an applicant from Ambdekar Nagar, and Bhagwan Das from Ballia claimed that they had come a day earlier in view of rain and spent the night on the railway station platform. These students got their admit card in the morning just an hour before the start of the exam. There was no room in hotels and dharmshalas. Thousands of applicants had to spend the night on the footpath.
The huge rush of applicants threw traffic out of gear early in the morning. Long queues of applicants were witnessed at the gate of the DDU Gorakhpur University.
