The teams would be headed by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Gopal Hosur, Additional Police Commissioner (City Armed Reserve) S N Megharik and Deputy Commissioner (Crime) N D Mulla, the sources said.

Police on Monday searched a vending outlet from which the victims, majority of them labourers, purchased the brew, police said.
A search was on for the owner of the shop identified as Soundar, who has been absconding along with his family members, they said.

Meanwhile, major political parties in the poll-bound state sought to make an issue out of the tragedy, blaming each other.
Congress took a swipe at the previous JDS-BJP government charging that its decision of banning arrack, had led to the tragedy, while the BJP held the Congress responsible for it.

JDS alleged that Governor Rameshwar Thakur's regime failed to check illicit liquor manufacture and sale and demanded a probe by the CBI.
