To a reporter's query as to whether voting in elections should be made compulsory, Badal replied in Phagwara that it was a good suggestion.
When further asked if he would ask Election Commission to make voting mandatory as the Lok Sabha elections were round the corner, he said that he would request the EC to do so.
He declared that the remaining two Akali candidates for Ludhiana and Bathinda Lok Sabha seats would be announced soon. He asserted that ruling SAD-BJP would sweep the polls in state.
When asked as to who would be the next DGP since the present incumbent N P S Aulakh was going to Centre,Badal shot back that appointment of a new DGP was just a five minutes job.
Badal, who is addressing three 'Vikas' rallies in as many assembly constituencies daily these days as a run-up for Lok Sabha polls, urged voters of Doaba region here to again bless the alliance in coming Lok Sabha elections as they had done in the assembly polls.
