The portals of Badrinath temple, closed every year with the onset of winter, would be thrown open to public on May 9, it was announced on Monday.

date for the reopening of the temple was announced at Narendranagar palace by the Raj
purohit
on the occasion of Basant Panchami on Monday in the presence of Boland Badri Maharaja Manujendra Shah, a Badrinath Kedardanath temple official said.
"The Badrinath temple will be reopened on May 9 at 4 am," said NP Jamloki the publicity officer of the temple committee.
The portals of Badrinath shrine, situated in the Himalayas, were closed for the winter season on November 16 last year.
