After bells and wind chimes, bamboo now takes the world of Feng Shui by storm. Feng Shui has been intrinsically associated with bamboo in all its forms but this year, Feng Shui pundits predict, new locations and varieties of bamboo will bring good luck to you.

The latest fad to hit the scene is twisted bamboo or 'lucky bamboo'. "Four lucky bamboos placed in the eastern corner of your home improve relationship, luck and bring back romance in your life," says Neeta Sinha, Mumbai-based Feng Shui expert who is also into reading horoscopes of houses. The bamboos should be placed in little water, preferably in a crystal bowl, and in sunlight.

Of course, the cute little shoots also lend elegance to your living room. Says Romila Behl, florist at The Ashok: "Most people aren't even aware of the Feng Shui usage of bamboo shoots and use them as beautiful pieces of foliage." Agrees Aruna Lal, owner, Floral Design, The Oberoi: "These shoots look best with huge pebbles or arranged in a crystal vase. They make a style statement."
