A Bangalore-bound Malaysia Airlines flight (MH192), carrying 166 people on board turned back shortly after take off on Sunday night, due to problem in its landing gear.
The flight landed safely at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 1.56am (local time), according to an official tweet issued by Malaysia Airlines (MAS).
According to the media release by Malaysia Airlines, there was some technical problem in the aircraft’s right-hand landing gear due to which the plane had to make an emergency landing.

"The aircraft’s right-hand landing gear malfunctioned upon takeoff and is expected to make an emergency landing at KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) at around 2.00am, Monday," confirmed the airlines.
"Flight MH192, operated on the B737-800 aircraft, was scheduled to arrive in Bangalore at 11.35pm the same day. The flight was carrying a total number of 166 people on board which include 159 passengers and 07 crew members."
However, according to AFP, the airline said tyre debris discovered on the runway had led to the decision to bring the Boeing 737-800 aircraft back.
"They have landed safely -- thank God," tweeted Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, who is overseeing Malaysia's response to MH370.
The airline is still reeling from the loss and presumed crash of flight MH370, which disappeared March 8 while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.
