Addressing election meetings here as part of his "Vijaya Dundhubi Yatra", Krishna said Congress President Sonia Gandhi knew that Bangarappa was acting against the interest of the party and that was why she did not lend credence to his activities.
He said Bangarappa had changed the very party which had given him much.
Attacking the BJP, he ridiculed its claim that it would destroy the Congress, saying that it was a 117-year old party.
